Consider, S = 1 - 1 + 1 - 1 + . . . 1 - S = 1 - (1 - 1 + 1 - 1 + . . .) 1 - S = 1 - 1 + 1 - 1 + 1 - . . . 1 - S = S Here left S and right S are different.
